Bright Birthday Flowers

Hello Crafty Friends,

I have another fun project to share with you that I created using the Bloom Vista stamp and die set from Little Birdie Crafts.

To start, I took a piece of the yellow paper from the Chevron In Aquarelle Collection and added a bit of stenciling with my Sparkle Paste in Arctic Shimmer.  I purposely wanted only a bit of the stenciling to show behind my focal design - kind of like it was "peeking" out.

I then stamped the floral images out onto white cardstock using some Copic friendly black ink.  I knew I wanted to use this sticker from the Floral Birthday Wishes embellishment pack so tried to coordinate colors.

After die-cutting the flowers, I played with the design, incorporating my hand-colored flowers with the sticker to make a larger focal image.  I used some dimensional tape and glue to give it more of a layered look.

I added some additional embellishment using the Pearl Drops in
Tangelo Citrus to draw the eye towards the focal point and to bring in that bright orange color.

Finally, I mounted the whole project onto dark brown cardstock and lastly onto a white card base.  I really enjoyed how this card came out.  These aren't colors I typically pick (well, except for the turquoise) but I really like the brightness of the whole design together and that shimmery paste underneath.

Until next time, be creative!

Wedding Bells

 Hello Again Crafty Friends!

I have for you a sweet card that would be perfect for a Bridal Shower, Wedding or Anniversary.

For this project, I started my background piece on watercolor paper using Brilliant Red Colourcraft Crystals.  After that dried, I added some Gesso using the Mandala Stencil across the center.  I also used some versamark ink and the same stencil to add some superfine silver glitter from the Silver Fiesta Bling pack.

I used a sticker from the Marriage Bells sticker pack for the cake image and the little flower and heart images.  I added one of the super cute butterflies that I painted with cream colored chalk paint and more of the fine glitter.

The large flower needed some silver glitter as well so I added that to change the color of the center from the original shade.

For the Love Story greeting, I used a piece of the primed chipboard "Wedding Bells" and colored it using walnut cream chalk paint.  Before adhering it to my card, I added some of the silver metallic wax for contrast.

Lastly, I added some embellishments using some of the bright silver mirror pieces from the Bling Fiesta pack and also some Pearl Drops in both Dew Drop and Candy Glaze.

All of this was mounted to a light gray card base.

I hope you enjoyed my love story card and perhaps try some of these ideas on a project of your own.  Thank you for reading!  Enjoy!
