Father's Day Wishes

 Hello Crafty Friends!

Today I have for you a brightly colored Father's Day card.  I've incorporated a chalk paint background that I made on a Gelli Plate to coordinate with the sticker I used from Little Birdie Designs.

So to start, I applied the chalk paint directly to my Gelli Plate in the colors of Salsa Red and Orange Splash.  I did use a little acrylic paint in bright yellow as well. I then swiped my texture tool over the paint I rolled on the plate and pulled my print to come up with the design you see here.

After the chalk paint dried, I used a sponge dauber to add some dots of the Silver Charm Shimmer paint to my project for some added shine since this was a card to celebrate someone special.

I made a quick banner with my scissors and added a greeting in navy ink from the stamp set Loads of Wishes.  After adding my sticker, I finished up with some Pearl Drops in Tangelo Citrus and a combination of Aqua Drop/Jade Isle.  I like to mix drop colors if I need a particular hue that Little Birdie doesn't have.  I think I was able to get closer to the blue on my card base and the collar/dots in the shirt sticker.

I hope you enjoy this bright and colorful card I created to celebrate Father's Day.  I thought it was a fun way to incorporate these adorable stickers :) Enjoy!

Sunset Dreams

 Hello Again Crafty Friends!

Today I have for you a warm greeting with inspiration to "Live Your Dreams!"  This project has many layers and I wanted the different textures to really shine through.

To start, I wanted to add a weathered look to my piece of paper from the Boho Dreams 6x6 paper pack.  It was a little too bright for the look I was going for so I swiped a brown ink pad across it horizontally to dull down some of that brightness.

Next, I used the gorgeous Mandala Extravaganza stencil to add texture with some of the Fired Brick Metallic Paint mixed into some Glitter Embossing Paste I had on hand.  I love the warm coral color against the Boho paper.

I wanted to keep going with my weathered look, so I tore the paper and then painted on some of the chalk paint in the shade Walnut Cream.  I also used a little strip of white paper and the Chevron Stencil to sponge some of that Fired Brick Metallic Paint and make a little accent piece.

On top of those, I added a piece of the mint colored paper from the Chevron in Aquarelle paper pack and sponged on some of the Walnut Cream paint there as well. I then colored some of the cream colored flowers with my ink pads to bring out the colors in my main image piece.

The Live Your Dreams piece I grabbed out of the Boho Dreams paper pack was punched out using an 1 3/4" circle punch and popped up on dimensional tape to complete my design.  I added some of my favorite embellishments at the very end - Pearl Drops in the color Lemon Whip.

Thank you for taking a look at my card today!  I hope you have a wonderful week and I can't wait to share with you again real soon :)
