It's All About the Good Times

 Hello Crafty Friends!

I've got a very cool stained glass looking card for you today.  I learned something new recently where you take ink that has been diluted with water and you transfer it using a piece of plastic to your project.  I adore the "outside the lines" feel that it gives.

For my card, I used this fabulous background stamp from Little Birdie Crafts called Whimsical Garden.  The line art design of this image is very appealing to me and lends itself to many creative uses.  Here I heat embossed the design using Versamark ink and black embossing powder.

I then took several colors of Distress Ink and layered them on my design, drying in between colors so I wouldn't get too much of a muddy blend in any one place.  I love how the colors, similar to watercolor, just ever so softly blended together.

I used the Metallic Paint in Silver Charm to add some accents to areas of the flowers and leaves in the design to highlight and add some sparkle.  I mounted my background to a piece of turquoise paper from the gorgeous "Songs of the Sea" 6x6 paper pack and brushed some ink on the edges of that cardstock in the color Mermaid Lagoon.  Then everything got glued onto a piece of black card stock.

For the greeting, I used one of the stickers in the embellishments pack called "Good Time" and because they come in a natural and white color, I brushed some ink on the white are that would accent the light green I used in my background.  I also added some of the Metallic Wax in silver glitz to the outside so that my greeting would blend in with my card.

Lastly, just a few drops of the Pearl Drops in the color Candy Glaze and my card was complete.  I can't wait to try this again with some other color combinations - what a fun stamp!
