Sending Paper Hugs

One of the things I like to send cards for is when someone loses a loved one....pet or person....doesn't matter.  The loss can be equally as devastating and sometimes sending a paper hug can be a great way just to let people know they are on your mind and in your heart.

For my card today, I wanted send a message of encouragement.  I think the sentiment in the stamp set Faith In Nature by Stampin' Up! offers a really nice option.  Personally, I like to steer clear of the more traditional "I'm sorry" to something more uplifting.

I used the Wood Grain DSP from Stampin' Up! and popped up my focal image on white cardstock that has been inked with Forest Moss Distress Ink and Distress Crayons over the white heat embossed pear image from the set.

I added some Liquid Pearls in the color Marigold to tie in the yellow of the cardstock.  Note to self.....Liquid Pearls work best when slightly warm.

I stamped the sentiment onto vellum using Soft Suede Stampin' Up! ink.  Let dry overnight....vellum can be difficult in that it takes ink FOREVER to completely dry.  Wrapping a white cotton ribbon around the focal image piece adds the finishing touch and hides the seam of the vellum.

Thanks for stopping by. Until next time.....
