Fishy Hugs

 Hello Crafty Friends!

I've been working on creating more Paper Hugs to send out these days.  It makes me feel better to brighten someone's day by sending out some surprise greetings.  Who doesn't love getting something other than bills and ads in the mail, huh?

For todays card, I used the stamp set called Sushi Bowl Party by Stampendous and my greeting is from the Ranger Letter It set called Greetings.

I used my Picketfence Studios Blending Brushes to
add Distress Oxide ink in the
color Salty Ocean to a white panel.  I used my Copic Sketch
Marker in Y13 to add a yellow border to another
white panel and added all those panels to my card base.
I almost forgot....over the top of the ink blended layer, I
used the Heffy Doodle Stencil called First
Snow and some Gina K Glitz Glitter Gel in iridescent
for the "bubbles" on the blue layer.

I stamped my fish onto white cardstock using Memento Black ink. I colored them using Copic Sketch Markers in BG11, B000, BG75, BG18, Y18, Y13, YR14, YR27, YR02, Y00, YG01, YG05, YG 09.  These little guys are so fun to color!

Heat embossed my greeting onto black card stock using my white superfine embossing powder from SSS.  Also to be noted, I couldn't find the right color embellishments so I went ahead and colored some clear stones with my coordinating Copic Markers.  I added those as accessory bubbles for my cute little fishies.

Thank you for reading and I hope my card inspires you to create a paper hug to send someone you care about!

Feeling Like Fall

It's definitely feeling like fall around here!  The days are mild, the nights are cool and the leaves are turning those gorgeous fall colors we all love.

My inspiration for todays card came from the random growing of a sunflower in our backyard this summer.  We didn't plant it but think maybe a bird dropped the seed?  Anyhow, it turned into the most beautiful sunflower plant I've ever seen.

So here is my card inspired by the gorgeous and ever so symmetrical sunflower.  I also wanted to share that I was playing along with the Mojo Monday Card Sketch #546 for the first time.  This is a great way to jumpstart creativity with a plan for layout as a starting point.  Its super fun to see all the different way crafters incorporate the sketches.

Heres a pic of the Sketch #546 so you can see what I was working with

I used the Painted Harvest stamp set by Stampin' Up!  One of my faves for the lovely details when you layer them together.  The photorealistic quality is so fun and looks different with every color combo you try.

I used gold stickles as my embellishments and brushed ink on the sides of my cardstock papers to tone them down a little and soften them.

A nifty trick I used with the greeting was to bend the photopolymer stamp around in the shape of the circle die cut so it would fit nicely around the sunflower image.  I love that photopolymer stamps are so versatile in this way!

Here is my finished card again.  Those little acorn accents are the cutest!

Hope you have a wonderful day!  Thank you for stopping by :)
