Elfie fun

Holiday Cheer with these sweet little Elves

I used the super fun first snow stencil from Heffy Doodle.  Tumbled Glass Distress Ink
and Memento Black.  I also added some Glimmer Paste from Nuvo in the color
Moonstone over top of the stencil to create the shiny snow balls.

For the elf, I used Copic Sketch Markers in
YG05, YG09, B05, B02, E70, E74, R12, R14, E50, RV10, YR27

I used this stamp set called Santas Helpers from Stampin' Up!
It's refreshing to use a totally different and whimsical font like this one.

Bold and Bright

Something Bold and Bright for you today!

What a gorgeous flower this is from Simon Says Stamp!  It was in one of the Monthly Card Kits and the set is called Look For The Rainbow.  It has some of the most beautiful line art floral and leaf images - I adore it!

Look at those sweet sentiments and greetings! Plus the alternating fonts and sizes are always awesome to have.  So many creative possibilities with this set!

Lets talk about my card, shall we?  I used my watercolors to paint up this gorgeous flower and leaves.  I really enjoyed adding multiple colors to the leaves to give them a realistic look - leaves can have so many different colors on them in nature, if you really look.

I popped the flower image up on dimensional tape and added the leaves in after.  I really liked overhanging the leaves off the edge of the card so it wasn't perfect looking.  If you look closely, I added some white gel pen dots to the petals on the flower to brighten up the edges.

My background layer was done using Distress Ink and Blending Brushes for a soft transition of color so as not to take away from my main image.  Greeting was heat embossed with my WOW! Embossing Powder in Silver.  The stamp is from another Simon Says Stamp set called  Thankful Flowers.  It was also in a monthly card kit....I'm telling you, the most AMAZING stamp sets come in these kits every month!

I hope you enjoyed my card and that I have inspired you to pick up your watercolors and get painting today :)
