Happy Saturday!
I wanted to share this card I created recently because I just love butterflies! My garden
is full of beautiful flowers this time of year and the amount of butterflies we get is amazing!
I just love all their different colors and how they quietly fly along.
I used my favorite blending brushes by Picket Fence Studios. The stencil is the
Tim Holtz layering stencil "Bubble". I chose two shades of Distress Ink - Shaded
Lilac and Dusty Concord. I really like how the brushes can help you achieve a soft edge
depending on the look you're going for, I feel very much in control of just how much color
I am able to lay down.
The stamp and die set I used for the butterflies is from a set that Sizzix and Hero Arts
collaborated on a few years back. It's called Butterflies #3 and is a great set of 5
stamps and 5 coordinating dies. To be honest, I bought it awhile ago and am only just now
getting to play with it. I had so much fun creating with it that it might stay on my desk for
awhile - so fun to color!
Here is a pic of the actual set.
For the greeting, I wanted something inspiring since butterflies always seem so amazing
to me when I get to see them up close in person. I chose to use the Hampton Arts stamp
set called Layer Butterfly.
I used Stampin' Blends for my alcohol markers to color in and blend the butterfly images.
Then a bit of Spectrum Noir Sparkle Pen in Crystal Clear on the wings to shine them up a bit.
A little tip for my punched circle - I did not have any cardstock that coordinated like I
wanted so after punching the shape out of white cardstock, I colored it using one of the
markers I'd used on my images so that it would all tie in nicely together.
After waiting for that all to dry, I then heat embossed the greeting using Versamark
A bit of Nuvo Dream Drops in Indigo Eclipse and Fairy Wings for that final touch.
Hope you enjoyed my card today! Thanks for looking :)
