A Little Slice Of Summer

A little summer treat today.....Watermelon!!!
My absolute favorite fruit.  I have turned our kids into Watermelon FREAKS too :)
It's so good when its perfectly cold and oh so sweet!

For this card, I started with a white card base and used an old Stampin' Up! mask to lay down some Distress Ink in the shade Worn Lipstick using a brush made by Picket Fence Studios.  These brushes lay down THE smoothest color and I just adore them!

After getting my background just so, I went ahead and stamped my images using Memento Black ink by Tsukineko.  I then colored my melon slices with the Stampin' Blends in various red and green shades.

The greeting comes straight but I curved it on my clear block to follow the oval shape and heat embossed using my Versamark ink and black embossing powder.
I chose the stitched oval die cut and the scalloped oval die cuts to pop my focal images up on the card front.  Both die cut pieces were adhered together and then I popped the whole thing up on foam.

I added a few clear dots, epoxy green stickers and some Stickles in Emerald Green.

This is the sweet stamp set I used called "Little Fruit" by Stampendous.

Don't you just adore the catchy greetings that go perfectly with the little fruits?

Hope you enjoyed this little slice of summer!

Thanks for stopping in to see my latest project.
Let me know if I can answer any questions - I'm happy to share!
