Painted Harvest Card

So I recently did this card in a class and everyone really loved it!  I adore the Painted Harvest stamp set and coordinating Leaf Punch.  There are many, many color combinations that can be used with these beautiful sunflower images.  The set is designed to look like watercolors without all the mess so when you stamp in layers with the leaves or sunflowers, you get a gorgeous look!

Here is the finished card:

Now I'd like to show you start to finish so you can see exactly how we created this delicate background using one of the sunflower stamps.

We stamped the more solid sunflower image using Sahara Sand ink stamped off 1x and just proceeded to layer the images one next to the other until the card front was full.  This really does give a neat pattern without it looking like the actual flower once you add the layers on top.

At this point we've got our greeting "Give Thanks" which comes in the Labels to Love stamp set and we only used the words and not the little leaves that are on the stamp as well.  We've also got a stitched framelit circle in vanilla cards stock.  I've taken the gold snowflake from the Winter Catalog and trimmed just a few ends of for "leaves" and then we also incorporated some of the new Champagne Foil sprigs using the die from the Trim Your Stockings thinlits set.  It's really fun to use several different die sets and stamp sets to see what looks great together!

Next comes the super cool new washi tape called Year Of Cheer in these luscious Gold, Silver, Copper and Champagne colors.  I really like this stuff because a little bit just makes your project shine!

So we've got our layers, our washi, our Gold Natural Trim and we've added the sunflower using the new Starburst Punch.  The sunflowers are made using 2 step stamping and adding either the same color both times or 2 complimentary colors - the possibilities are endless!

Now to punch a few leaves using the coordinating leaf punch and some Lemon Lime Twist & Wild Wasabi ink.  Add those in using a little fine tipped glue and you're all set.
